Bolling (Bruce C.) Municipal Office Building is dedicated.
April 7, 2015
Architect: Sasaki Associates. With Mecanoo Architecten. Named for the Roxbury resident and former Boston City Council president, it is located at 22 Warren Street. The four-building complex includes the shells of the former Ferdinand’s Blue Store, Waterman and Sons Funeral home, and the Curtis Block. Its tenants include the Boston School Department. According to Boston Globe architecture critic Robert Campbell, “The developer was the city of Boston itself [and] compared with the clueless architecture often produced by the private real estate market, the Bolling is a Taj Mahal.” The building opens to the public on April 25, 2015.
